I have no idea what the motives of this pilot were, but would have to take him at his word. Furthermore, two things can be true at the same time, so again, if he says that he is concerned about passengers that's good enough.

And why would you feel that way, under any circumstance ? My "point" is simple: pilots complain about not getting paid for trips missed (for example) because the Company has been given a "free ride" by this stupid APA union contract (which most voted for) and then go above and beyond their pay grade to try and get paid so they don't have to scramble to pick up extra time because the union negotiated a crappy loophole whereby the Pilot HAS to do the Company's job to GET THE MONEY.

A part of this pilot group? No chance. I fly planes for a living and do the job the Company pays me to do. This "pilot group" negotiates open loophole contracts and walks all over professional's years of service.

If Doug wants to take on Delta, he has to provide a quality product. You do not get quality by running a cheap operation. I think we will reach the limits of running a cheap operation soon.

Fancy packaging or illusions alone won't do that in the future IMO. You need substance behind it. Walmart could start selling Bentley's in their stores, but they'd still be Walmart with a preponderance of toothless knuckle-draggers wandering about displaying gobs of butt-crack.

Why not implement it and get the line guarantee? We rail on the AA culture for 'inability to change' yet that is exactly what happened on our side as well.

Because the rest of it is not in place!!! Do we have PBS? No. Do we have trip trade? No.

The Company neglected to implement their own contract (among many other portions as well) and then used their own neglect as a pretext to further negotiate... and you have the ignorance to give the company a pass..

He's a realist. He hoped the pilots could actually form unity to improve the collective equity. It's a fairy tale. Pilot leaders get to the top and conspire to shove a shh it y contract through, during billion dollar profits, and then go out to Cacharels for Kobe beef and $400 bottles of wine (they learned about Caharels by dining with DUI).

It's a fantasy. Let it go. Do your job, and forget the stress. You are an independent contractor. It's what the majority wants, always, after several decades.. Always.
