Can the company adequately staff those shiny new 175s?

They aren't going to run the shuttle with 175s.

Because the Shuttle is a different product that what any regional offers. Ever rode on a regional that served alcohol to everyone and out of real bottles?

The shuttle is a big money maker and product that has to perform. I highly doubt anyone would ever consider giving it away.

They used to run it with ENvoy. .. it may not have been officially "The" shuttle. But it was hourly ish service DCA-LGA .. AAs version of the shuttle. Not much time for first class stuff on a 35 minute flight. Also Delta ran the 175.

I think they could easily replace it with 175's. Brand new planes, First Class, Wifi and the same great comfort as the 190's. Don't think it would be to hard for FA's to serve alcohol to everyone out of a real bottle.

Yes the Shuttle is a money maker, but if a WO'ed is flying it with 175's isn't AA still getting the money?

Right! Maybe he just remembers the free Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Drinks and the free Magazines (ah the old magazine racks). You know back when it was all 727's flying it.

"Product"? There is no "product".
The e190 is an rj flown by mainline pilots. It is no different than an e175 other than the head count and crew flying it. You could literally replace it overnight with republic and not a soul would notice.

If it stays is a simple answer. United and Delta has put in new rates for there 190s. Parker will now look at those rates and figure out if its better to buy 80 more 190's because matching those rates would be a good deal, or dumping those 20 190's because it more cost effective to just use the Airbus.

That's probably why no commitment has been made.

Anyone know the rates of United/Delta's 190 rates compared to American? I know there better, but by how much?
