Default STL offline commute question

New UA pilot here who happened to JS a STL-MIA 737-800 last week with 100 empty seats. Got me to wondering if AA is having to pump extra capacity into/out of Lambert to accomodate the legacy TWA pilot base...I'm starting out at EWR but the UA LAX base is getting very junior and has a 7 day/wk LAX-STL redeye that while painful, would make almost every trip backend commutable unlike Newark Anyone who commutes STL-LAX or vice versa willing to weigh in on typical seat loads including main cabin vs. Flightdeck JS (which would be a painful 4 hours)? Including that daily redeye? Many thanks, BK
