We were doing quite a bit of IAD-LAX flying until May of this year. I bid them because they were easy. There was either the 2-day trip (IAD morning departure and get back the next day around 4pm) or the red-eyes that departed IAD in the late afternoon and got back early AM a couple days later.

Yep Huey, Some of that flying came back to the DCA 737 base (we'd been flying them for years...before the 737 it was a 75/76.) As a result the IAD lines increased from 6 to 11... Woohoo!
Currently we do the 0745 departure and the return that gets in around 1700. I think LAX is flying the evening one and the red eye.

Hotel,
Bwi flying is a mixed bag. It tends to goes senior for CAs but no so much for FOs.... That's because I believe there are more CAs that live up that way than FOs.
That said, there are always a ton of Bwi trips in open time simply due to the fact that the majority of them are uber-early departures (lots of 0515-0600 stuff.)

BTW, had a FO who just got back from the schoolhouse say the "latest"
plan was to create a large (?) 767 base in PHL and move A330's to MIA. Doesn't sound implausible but still encompasses moving plenty of pilots and airplanes around. It would have to be after the SLI, I presume, and the displacements would be crazy. IMO it does make some sense that the higher capacity 330s would be sent south freeing up 777s for the pacific while the 757/767 could take-up the slack with lighter loads and shorter ranges the over the atlantic.
Now with BREXIT anything is possible, but I thought Id pass it on FWIW. Also, at least on the JFK 777 routes, loads have been fairly light to Europe and back. (guessing 2/3 full on average) With June almost gone I would have thought summer travel would be in full swing. I hope its not a sign of the times.

Hello. I guess I could listen to the Hotline but to spare me, what does all hands vacancy bid mean? 32 years here and still can't read between the lines.

Interesting rumors. Perhaps they will announce a fleet realignment when the SLI is announced.

One would expect some fleet/hub shifting and domicile size adjustments to start hammering us very shortly.
