No it is not.
We keep find hidden goodies in the companies favor.

We just found out this morning that the training dept is holding back flights in PBS for OE rather than buying the trip from the associated crew.

The ability to pass to a junior pilot is the only thing I'm seeing that is better.

The company has had the ability to grab trips for training for awhile. In the N4 list it would say. 'Blocked IOE'.
Did they lose that with PBS?

It looks like the training dept is cherry picking trips and they are being withheld from PBS. Problem is, those trips are now showing up in TTS in open time and you are unable to pickup/trade for those trips. These trips that are in open time are phantom trips and are artificially inflating the amount of real open time and thereby hindering (or down right blocking) the ability to drop trips UNC in TTS. Got that shocker this morning when I was unable to flat out drop a trip (non-holiday).

Under the L-US system, the trips were assigned and the had to be bought from the crew-memeber. If your trip was bought you got paid for the trip and got the time off.

This was one of the concessions that helped sink the 2015 Delta TA last year.

They (mgmt) said that AA got this in their JCBA and they wanted it as well.

Our new TA says now that AFTER PBS runs trng can pick trips out of available open time and/or buy trips from pilots to do IOE so much less of a concession.

OK, this is part of the 2012/MTA. Our old 2003 contract said 3 days after SEP Flt Standards could then block trips for IOE, IE.

When I was a FO I would do a N3I/MIA/CA/1-30JUN then look for my favorite captain Blocked IE, then note the sequence number, then load that sequence number in my Bidpro+ trip trade program.

So until single FOS SFP Oct 1 you USAir guys had a different set of rules. You had a Futures desk. You didn't DHD as much as we do on Reserve.

What I wrote above above about AA reserve is not as bad as it used to be, trust me, I know what i'm talking about.

APA is beyond messed up.

To call that union a "dumpster fire" is an insult to honest, hard-working dumpster fires everywhere.

Therein lies the problem.
It might be better than it used to be at AA but it is still worse than most other systems we (non-AA) have been under.

Some data.....I was the junior man on long call in MIA/320/I. I had 17 days off total, 10 of which were consecutive. I ended around 60 hours. All trips I commuted in day of (except one, had to go to the crashpad one night), all trips commuted home on day of. One trip I proffered for gave me a layover where I live (extra night at home). Two trips were my choice, two were JM. For me long call commuting is working well.
