Default Application Question

Filled out the American Airlines app back in 2013 I believe; they were about to close the window. Took the personality test/psych eval. Think I got a response back from American at the time, but now can't find the email. I believe if they liked your responses on the test, they'd contact you.

So question is do I update the app already on file, or should I delete that one and start over since can't find proof if the eval. went well or not.

I started my application in 2014. Heard nothing....crickets. Guys I knew with less experience than me got hired, and still...nothing. Figured I had failed the psych test, had a skeleton I didn't know about, whatever. Then out of the blue last fall I received an email inviting me to the interview process.

I'm not sure what algorithm AA runs to screen applications, but my advice is to keep updating your application periodically and keep networking. I'd bet that if you start another application, they'd find a way to link it to your last (active) one.

Of course, I'm not involved in the process, just a product of it. Hopefully some well connected senior pilots will shed more light.

Hey so I was feeling lucky today and decided it's about time I got on that AA Application process I've been meaning to do. Unfortunately I can't find the job posting anywhere. Am I crazy or does one not currently exist?

Hey, appreciate the response! I eventually ended up figuring it out when I was looking through other airline stuff. It's actually under Pilot credentials with FedEx and Southwest. Thanks though.

How far in advance would you put your application in the system? Meaning, if I'm not able to start training because I still work for X company(have a contract), when would you put your application in? Obviously looking to min run time without a job if all the stars align.

There's a box where you can select the time you will be available for employment.

What does "complete" on the Status of your application mean for AA. My other app on another Pilot Credentials says "active."

Do you get an email if you don't fit the bill on their little psych test at the end?

For those with your ATP, are you checking the box, "current ATP written" or just just checking the box that you have your ATP.
