Like UPS (well UPS does do Capt/FO rates), you get paid purely based on your Length of Service (LOS), not what or where you fly.

Sort of like the way the military does it.

Consequently, pilots bid the type of flying / schedule they most enjoy without worry of leaving pay behind due to the size of their aircraft.

Got it thanks.

Actually the 320 at BA is very junior. About 1 year to hold LGW 320 CA. The reason you see young 777 CAs at BA is because half the fleet is widebody aircraft and most pilots are hired in their early 20's. So that 45 year old 777 CA probably has over 20 years of service.

Interesting.

Thanks for the clarification.

Taxiing around LHR, it sure seems like BA has owned/or owns at least a few of just about every type of airliner ever made from at least Boeing and Airbus.

Yep and the guys who got bumped to 190 captain have been getting group 4 fo pay for over 2 years now.

I'm still kicking myself for not bidding it back then. Best deal out. And those guys won't be able to hold G4 fo again for a while so they will be keeping the pay until they can.

Is it a true statement that this only applies to being displaced to a group 1 aircraft? Or is it also the case when being displaced from a group 3 FO to group 2 FO position?

Only keep the higher pay if you get displaced from a higher paying position to group 1 captain. Also only applies if you were hired before dec 1 2013.

I thought we were ordering 22 a350's? Your timeline shows only 12.
I haven't seen any official memo saying less than 22 but I easily could have missed it. Gosh I hope it isn't only 12!

From the state of the airline Q&A on jetnet

Q. Can you give an update about the Airbus A350-XWB orders?

A. The first two are scheduled to arrive in 2018, with five per year after that. Our total order is for 22 A350s.

That is a slow delivery but better than no delivery. Thanks for the clarification.
