Pretty amazing how the best hiring market in decades is about to become the worst hiring market in decades, all in the span of a week.
What little leverage the union had thru attrition is gone. They can keep delaying thru the courts but the end result will be arbitration, and a bankruptcy level contract in 3-4 years if we ever get one. In the meantime Atlas management will cry poor and hold out their hand for some of that government cheese as freight rates soar and they're compensated at a level higher than the legacy carriers CEO's. You won't see any AAWW execs volunteering to cut their pay to "share the pain".
If we're broken up and sold to Amazon which looks more likely with each passing month, those coming here for refuge and the rest of us will join the thousands of furloughed looking for a job with Prime Air or any pilot job.

If he’s talking about this,

it looks like it is a company out of Boise that doesn’t seem to be associated with Amazon.

Oh I completely get the point, it does not change my statement however. I understand it all too well, so I’ll put it all out there. Let’s look at what a month has done to the industry and what the current options may be: 62 hr, 18 days on, crap QOL, OR on the street. That’s the reality today, you know what you would choose if you had to eat and pay rent, as do I. As does Purchase. Peoples feelings don’t change this reality, unfortunately. I wish it were different, these guys have fought for too long.

I guess they could. But Amazon could sue for trademark violation even if its frivolous. Bury them in legal fee debt that they are forced to give it up. Might actually cost them money. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

The last 5 new hire classes for Atlas/Southern had about 15 people show up total. Now, however, I think we should be closer to filling classes. Just talked to a Southern crew, and they are going to try and add a 777 airframe next month...
