Base and Seniority Progression

Any chance we can get back on topic here? Training questions are addressed in other threads.

There's quite a few it could be, depending on availability. Hyatt, Home2, Residence, just to name 3.

Edit: sorry Clue, didn't see your post, I'll stop lol

At most, new seniority/base info is available once a month. If there is new info to report, it will be posted at some time after the 20th of each month.

New Hire here. Looking forward to training!

Quick question on these numbers. I gave a look at the CBA, and it appears that bids occur every month. Is this correct?

So it seems like we make an initial basing bid early in training, and that's not what you want, or your wants change, you can submit a new bid or standing bid every month?

Thanks!

Yes, if there is movement every month then there will be bid opening.

In training you will submit a standing bid with the seat/aircraft/base you want and in what order. It will stay the same until you change it. No need to bid every month.

The only bidding you will do every month or every other month is for your work schedule for the next 30 or 60 day period.

You will not have any choice in what your first base will be. If you’re on the 747, it will be ANC. 767 it will either be ONT or CVG, it varies month to month which is more junior. 777 will be LAX or CVG. It varies as well. 737 will be CVG.

Preliminary Award for IAH and PDX is out. Looks like 767 FO IAH is 12/21. PDX is New Hire. Curious if this will hold.

What will often happen on reserve, is that before you even start reserve, all your reserve days fill up with flying, and you never actually sit in reserve, in a hotel.
Here is another example: I was based JFK, assigned R2 (hotel reserve), in CVG. I called Sched, told them I would prefer to do R2 ANYWHERE on the planet, other than CVG. They said, how about LAX? Great! Got airlined from GRB to LAX, on my first day of work (instead of having to commute into JFK early, to start R2 there). As soon as I got off the plane in LAX, found out I was Operating to HNL the next day, 4 days in HNL, Operate to SYD, 4 days in SYD, then, for Qantas, Operate somewhere to Asia, and then keep going. I never actually was in a hotel on R2 at all that pattern.
Another: I am assigned 7 days of R2 in base. I ask for 5 days of R1 (home reserve-NO pay!), then two days of R2. Approved. I am assigned 5 days of R1. I ask for R2 (hotel reserve), so I can get paid instead. They changed it to R2 somewhere, instead of the R1.

Right now, no. Not enough sims. On the 747, whole classes are being sent home for weeks, Luckily, decent pay first year...no Training Pay, like we used to have.
