Guys, does anyone know what the normal routine is for the ground school portion of training? Two days off to come home each week or so, or what? Also, do they give us passes to come home at all during training, or are we just jumpseating?

Also, sort of a silly question, but the uniforms… are there hats and blazers or just shirts and leather jacket or what? I know its black and gold at Atlas.

Thanks all!

Training is six days per week, so plan to be gone the full nine weeks.

No hats, no blazers. Pants are actually blue, leather jacket is black, all provided by company.

Interesting... What are your thoughts on how senior it goes?

Wow, provided by company. That's gonna be a nice new feeling. And no hat; I'll be wondering where I left mine for a few weeks before I remember we don't wear them, LOL.

WTFover has it right. Just another comment, though. It will be a fairly intense 9 weeks and while going home sounds nice, it's hard to keep your head in the game that way. Better to stay focused and stay in Miami. Some folks did head for home when there were the rare couple of days in a row off during my initial training. There were always plans to do studying while at home but somehow they never seemed to materialize. That's just how it is. Should you choose to go home it will be by jumpseat (or driving if you live close enough).

Probably very senior.

If it grows it may get more junior

Well, just updated my stuff. 2460tt, and all my commercial flying is in Alaska.

I believe there are a LOT OF pilots that gateway out ORD and MDW...and MKE...so probably base will be senior.

Atlas also has four? very different lightweight jackets you can buy. Most pilots don't wear leather jacket.

There were several 3+ day off stretches when I went through. Most jump seated home a few didn't. People that have trouble keeping their "head in the game" during training have trouble no matter where they're at.
