There are bases you can move to that make it easier to work with. If you were living in CVG for example you could move to CVG and stay there you're entire career once you could hold lower 48 on the 747. MIA and ANC are the same way. HSV, LAX, and JFK you never really see your base after maybe day 1. PAE is sort of a mix. IAH is very Senior and the stuff you'd hold being junior would spit you out immediately and you may never see IAH on your trip. Reserve is quickly converted into a trip most of the time so that doesn't help much. That's if you were planning on staying at Atlas.
If you're planning on leaving anyways then you'll probably be gone 19 days a month because of the commutes on day 0 and 18 to ANC.

just trying to keep this thread alive, I imagine most people have skipped Atlas and moved on to much better career choices. The Union just met with the company again and they are VERY far apart on where negotiations should be. The company has no intent of negotiating a fair contract only forcing an amalgamated sub standard contract. There's nothing to see here, keep moving along folks.
You have been warned.

I'll be in the August 1st class. I know that it's been mentioned on here before, but does "business casual" for class include like polos and khakis? Or are dress pants and button ups prefered? Also, I know that a tie had been mentioned for the type ride. Is a jacket expected as well, or just a shirt and tie?
Any other tips or recommendations for preparing for class? Is there a laundromat near the hotel that is accessible for someone who won't have a car in Miami?
Thanks for any tips. Looking forward to get training started.

Khakis and polos are fine. Tie is only for oral and type ride, no jacket. Washer and dryers are in both hotels. The holiday inn costs coins, but you can use the Staybridge too, but competing with the people staying there if you aren't. Work on the CBTs, but don't kill yourself. You will be there 2-1/2 months no matter how hard you try to get done much quicker.
