Hi fellas, American expat currently working in Ireland operating the 738 (700, 800, 8200). About 1900 TT hours and 1600h on type. Applied for Atlas and got a phone call literally 24h after submitting my application and got an interview date which was strange because I clearly told them that I do not have a FAA ATP (Easa ATPL frozen).

1. Can someone clarify if they offer some sort of ATP-CPT program that they pay for? I've accumulated enough debt, I'm not putting a single dime back into flight training.

2. What's the deal with base preference for new recruits? Any fleet I should consider that is particularly better than the other? If these past years have taught me anything is I'll put quality of life and conditions before my "dream" machine, at this point I could care less if they offer me a flying washing machine if the T&C's are right. My wife and I have struggled enough living on this moss covered rock, therefore someplace warm is what I'm looking for (MIA, LAX, ONT, TPA).

3. For you old timers that have been in the company for a while now what are your thoughts? Are you happy? I am well aware that the perfect company does not exist therefore it would be nice to get some blunt honest feedback.

It's not very difficult finding a company better than mine at the moment but the 5/4 stable roster and being home every night is how they keep us by the balls. Thanks in advance for the replies guys looking forward to some answers.

I think we do. If there isnt anything official, ask them to do so. We'd love someone with Boeing experience, so you're marketable.

767 has good QOL. CVG is junior with moves to ONT or TPA being possible. 737 people seem happy. One of them can fill you in on their lifestyle.

Yeah, pretty happy. Could be better but why be miserable? That said most of us would prefer to be at UPS or FedEx. If you are in a position to go someplace better, go. If you wind up here, you could do worse.

You won't be home every night. Your wife may get sick after the change. Make sure she's got a clear-eyes assessment of what youd be moving into. Just my thoughts, though. I ain't you.

How junior is MEM 747? I would live in base.

How are the lines in MEM? Mostly 17 days straight? 4-5 days on? 3-4 days off? Lots of returning to MEM for a day or two?

Current regional FO with 1200 SIC turbine. 400 of that is 121 SIC turbine.

Thanks!

The junior MEM 747 FO was hired in December 2021. Somebody else will have to answer the other questions, I’m not familiar with those lines.

There was a group of us that got $117 our 1st year. All new hires will get $92.
