Nope. It’s the best source airline interview gouges. I’ve used them for every interview I’ve had with success.

Any other recommendations for interview prep sources? TIA.
Aviationinterview.com is pretty good.

I wanted to clarify my thought here in case I foment some anger that's misplaced. I like having Americans benefit from our contracts. It's even better when those contracts work in the interest of US foreign and domestic policy. So I have problems with us abusing the E3 visa program. The problem is that we aren't supporting our fellow countrymen and countrywomen after receiving substantial support from the US government. While it can be argued that we are simply using the tools that our government provides us, I think one could argue that we're not really complying with the intent of these laws. These concerns go beyond labor relations or my personal geopolitical views. Are we squandering our political capital in a time of plenty at the expense of when we'll really need it?

In the last two years, we've refused to return bailout money. We've expanded our relations with Cainiao shortly after receiving those funds. Now we're hiring on E3 visas. These decisions will have consequences. If pro-labor views come about in future elections, these decisions will harm us. If pro-business views strengthen with coming elections, they'll likely be tied to some level of nativist sentiment. These same decisions will be exploitable even then. Of course, politics, money and relationships go a long way. So none of this happens in a vacuum, and we're only discussing a few of many hundreds of factors affecting our future. Still, we can't keep making moves like these without some kind of blowback.

So my problem is that we're inappropriately holding a door open to foreigners, and we're ignoring the costs.

I do not, however, have a problem with the pilots who are taking advantage of these opportunities. So there's no problem with Australian pilots. If you're here, the only thing I have to say is "Nice to meet you.". The problem is with our hiring practices not the pilots we hire.

Default Loadmaster hiring at Atlas

Former civilian loadmaster/on board ground handler for the airlines during the Iraq war. Spent a ton of time in the sand box, and days on the A/C.

Unfortunately I can’t renew my medical or I’d be flying.

How is life these days for on board loadies? I’ve been out of the game for 15 years, but I miss flying.

I know this is a brutal life, but I can’t get it out of my mind.

Do they see hotels more often now? I know the pay isn’t ideal, and there was no mandatory rest 15 yrs ago.

How many days do they spend on board? Any other info on cargo flights would be great. I my experience was wide body Pax flights.

Speaking from the 74 perspective and not an LM.The answer Locke gave you on the Kalitta side parallels our folks, although I keep running into LM’s staying out quite a bit longer. Tough stuff living on the aircraft for so many days. Granted they have company at times with the mechanic on board every so often. They really accelerate the work in China which helps out immensely with ground times when possible. Have had 5+hours on the ground, average 4-5 hrs or so. LM the other day brought us below 3.5 hrs at a known slow poke location which is greatly appreciated.

Provided by “Locke”:
disclaimer: I’m not a loadmaster)
The schedule from what I’ve heard is the same as the FMEs: 20 on 10 off
Right now the loadmasters are doing a lot of the China circle with a few doing something random like a military run.
Hotels are hit or miss depending on which run you get. The quality is top notch, but it can be a few days between hotel stops. They used to get a break in December for peak and become station guys in SDF, MEM, etc but I think China has taken that over. It’s a whole lot of Groundhog Day at Kalitta.”

*Always good to have an LM and Mech on board. Definitely can grease the wheels if you will.

Sounds like it’s much the same life. The LM stays on the AC while multiple flight crews come and go off to the hotel to rest. I was hoping things had changed to include less sleep deprivation.

It might be slightly better in some respects than you remember and, in some cases, possibly worse, much worse in others. I can't speak for Atlas aircraft, but all Kalitta 744 pure freighters have been converted to "torpedo tube" bunks. This means that the FME and LM have their own semi-private bunk area. The 744BCF planes also have bunks for the FME and LM. The 777 on the other hand has only bunks for the operating pilot and the Supernumery seats are not nearly as comfortable as those on the 747. Sometimes our LM's have to ride all the way around the LAX-SYD-SGN-HKG-LAX circle just to work one of those stops that we don't have a contract loadmaster at. It well and truly sucks for them.

Default Any prospects for 2023?

1700hours Airbus driver Processing Greencard in US .

Expecting to get permanent residency in 2023 July

Atlas is the best option for me among Airlines in USA

Will this crazy number of hiring at Atlas continue in 2023 as well or will it suddenly stop at some point?

Nobody can really knows the answer but just curious about insider's thinking
