Training department will never sign off on AQP. Their livelyhood depends on how many double triple shifts they do in the box.

Yes but was the quality of sits and Sims any good? Also, if the Sims don't prepare you for the checkride doesn't matter how many you get.

That’s difficult to understand considering there is nothing on the type ride that you have not done multiple times during the previous sim sessions. In fact, the recommend sim for the type is almost the exact same scenario as the checkride itself. I simply do not understand your post. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If this was your first 121 training experience, and you started with minimal experience, then yes it would be a BIG challenge. Atlas does not have a regional airline type training program that can take you from zero to hero.

I've been in the 121 world for over 20 years... The Southern training was absolutely useless, and the WORST 121 program I've ever been through. No, the amount of "training" was fine... The content and quality of that training was the problem.

I thought the same when I read his post. It sounds like he went into K4’s training back during the hiring surge without any jet/turbine experience.

Dont worry AQP will fix everything….oh wait! 😆 AQP has been promised for how long?

The training programs at Atlas are frozen in place until AQP is adopted. Southern was very close to AQP prior to being purchased by Atlas 8 years ago. Unfortunately, the 777 program is still stuck with the Boeing training footprint. However, 95%+ of pilots over the last 15 years have successfully passed through the program with no issues. Those that struggle are provided extra resources. However, the info and skills are not spoon fed to you. For the few that washout they were not meant to be here anyways. Fill out the Survey Monkey. They do get read.

Surprisingly, most of the problems lately have been from pilots transitioning from other Atlas fleets…NOT new hires. What does that tell you? 😱

That they’re used to a better training program?
That they’re flunked because they criticize? Because they continually have to correct the ground/sim instructors?

Why, does it tell you any different?
