My understanding is that most of Atlas's hiring historically is for attrition at the bottom of the seniority list. Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this comment not imply that they don't forsee that kind of attrition happening anytime soon?

And the truth about historic hiring is, yes, a lot of the hiring since 2016 was due to attrition and the nasty environment created by toxic management during the last contract negotiation. However, prior to 2016, there was a huge surge in hiring, particularly for the 767 in anticipation of the Amazon contract (which was also unbeknownst to the APC world).
The best advice here is, if you're really interested in Atlas, wait for an application window to open and make the application. Continue to update every six months or as your resume changes. Good luck.

Here's the truth: No one on this board or even in the Training Center knows what's going to happen next year.

The usual suspects who create these rumors have been 100% wrong, 100% of the time.
The ones who actually know what's happening aren't talking. As of now, the expectation is no new hiring until end of next year. But if a carrier comes to us and offers a 10-plane CMI deal, we will start hiring like gangbusters the next day.

To add to the "nobody knows" point we don't know what the macroecominc or geopolitical environment will look like a month from now. If we could make informed speculation before these days that speculation is less informed. We are in a period of general uncertainty.

They require flying to surpass that of the legacy but pay below that of the bottom fish regionals
Said it before, great company to work for…after 10 years in
Impossible to say. Right now, SEA is the junior 767 FO base, but the NGO - EHU trips were pulled right as it opened and MIA added cargo trips for Caribbean Airlines. MIA being the new hire 767 base is just as likely as SEA.
I imagine that when the company begins hiring, there will be enough movement off the 767 to create vacancies in MIA. You can fill out your standing bid by Indoc day 1 or day 2. Hopefully near-monthly vacancy bids return.
However, if you live in South Florida, you may have a better QOL being SEA based and bidding trips out of MIA, should they continue.
