It's a joke, one that's as old as EFIS/glass itself.

I got the joke part, maybe you missed mine. ;-)

Actually I did fly an old round dial hawker not too long ago. It'll be fun doing round dial stuff again!

Who you fly for dotjet?

Fullboat2,

Think of it this way...it is an extra type rating that you will have...because the guys that get the 400 now will never (??) get to go to the Classic in their Atlas careers. The Classic's tenure at Atlas is not very long, but I've been saying that for 10 years!!

That said, the Classic is still a good airplane and does make lots of money for the company...don't let 400 pukes like me tell you any different. I was on the Classic for a long time, and it is now a niche airplane for us.

None of our airline ACMI customers want it, but it is the best airplane for the USAF.

Enjoy it, and congratulations.

yes $1200 month and $55.30 per day per diem, paid hotel at the residence inn (nice) and por gratis shuttle service to from training and airport. plan on 6 days per week during training and 63ish days. also training in MIA isn't bad PS its real good to read the whole thread if you are on the outside wanting in lots of good info from those who've been thru the process, training, and out on the line for those with QOL questions

djrnav:

Congrats on passing the phone interview!

Tonight when you download "Ace The Technical Pilot Interview" and read it cover to cover, before you turn off your computer, read every post on this thread before asking anymore questions..

A great many similar questions have been asked.

Good Luck!

That you are in the right seat is proof of that for sure!
