If you're super senior, yes. Otherwise, not so much.

ATPcliff, while you were being limo'd all over the midwest I went back home for a couple of days then I was able to get out.

You do way too much work for the Travel dept. I give them the info and wait for them to call.

see ya next time at the airport.

Could an ANC based guy expect to see ANC a lot?

I know, I know, the real answer is "it depends."

Yes, you will see a lot of ANC. Almost all trips begin and end in ANC.

Default Atlas Air Schedule

I understand that, I was thinking more of overnights or trips that were shorter than 17 days.

Again, I get the fluidity of life over there.

Default Junior base and aircraft

As a new hire, what could one expect for initial aircraft and base assignment? Are there any peculiarities to certain aircraft schedules or are they all relatively the same?

Thanks!

These last two classes are going to ANC 747. Going forward, who knows. But I'd guess once the bidding freeze on the original 76 guys is up many will bid over to the 74 and future classes will be 76. But who knows, that could all change as well.

As portfo said, ANC 747 or CVG 767. If you get ANC 747 before the seat locks expire starting in September, you may be stuck there for a while. 767 guys will be senior and will probably take more desirable base slots as they come open.

All aircraft schedules are equally peculiar, so to speak. Junior 767 CVG could be domestic DHL night freight, sitting reserve in Asia, or sitting reserve in CVG. Once you start a 747 trip, seems like you can be sent almost anywhere.
