Why don’t I have an accident on my record?

HI. 3 years & counting, my records still show no accident. The NTSB investigation is complete.

I was the “non-flying” SIC during a runway excursion on landing. The final report of findings & probable cause(s) is:

”Undetermined.”

If they suspect you goofed, you might get an LOI, but IIRC that gets removed at some point. If they actually find a violation, that would go in your record.

FAA records to be submitted to the Pilot Records Database include any involvement in an accident or incident as pilot in command, or second in command.

Reviewing entities must evaluate both the FAA records and records provided by an operator (reporting entity) subject to this rule. The FAA records include:

Records related to current pilot and medical certificate information, including associated type ratings and information on any limitations to those certificates and ratings;

The publication date of the Federal Register notification was 06/10/21. The timeline for implementation, as spelled out in the Federal register establishes one year after publication as the point to begin reporting pilot records, historical records, and operator records. At two years after publication, complete records are to be established, from January 1, 2015, onward. At three years from publication, full PRD historical upload and use is complete. We are approaching the deadline for compliance at the two year post-signing point.
