Default SOE Logging PIC/SIC

I am new to this forum and apologize if this has been answered. I have a two part question. I hold an ATP and PIC type on the CJ3. I've been logging the legs that I fly as PIC to meet the 25 hour SOE requirement so it can be removed (the captains sign my logbook as supervised PIC). After I meet that, I'm thinking about logging everything SIC since I haven't had a 299 line check. My understanding is that it is still legal for me to log PIC (on the legs I'm flying/sole manipulator&PIC typed) after meeting SOE requirements but wouldn't hold any weight in an airline interview and may raise a red flag. Thanks for responses in advance.

Legally you can log it, and in this case have a perfectly good reason to do so. But you're right airlines don't consider sole-man PIC in their calculus so you'd need to make sure that you separate it out when you apply.

But since you have to log some anyway for the SOE, I don't really see any good reason to stop at 25 hours...that might be more confusing than just logging it. I would probably keep a separate column in your book to avoid confusion either way.

Default SOE Logging PIC/SIC

I was in the same shoes you are. I continue to log my legs as PIC even after the SOE was removed. When applying to the airlines, my breakdown has all my jet time (since I haven't upgraded to capt yet) as SIC. I did, however, write a letter under the addendum section that explains why it's PIC in my logbook. "In order to remove the SOE limitation I logged my legs as PIC. My company also counts my legs as PIC for upgrade purposes......"

Where does it say you have to log PIC time in order to get your SOE removed?

It says you must perform the duties of PIC. I simply logged total time and SIC time. I mad a comment after each flight saying I performed the duties of PIC as per 61.64 and had the captain sign it. The FAA did not have any problems with that.

But yes, you can log it as PIC if you are sole manipulator, but you do not have to in order to get the SOE removed.
