You do realize it's just an airplane, right? There is no crazy technology on it that makes it the next coming of Christ. It's just an airplane, same tube, tail, wings with efficient engines and a shiny new flight deck.

Remember this is the airplane that bankrupted a company, AB bought it cheap and is selling it at a loss. That must be some A200 porn site you frequent that makes you love it so much.
Whatever dude. Feel better about yourself? You have zero idea of what the A220 can do. Why would Neeleman order 80 A220s? Just because of the price? Or because they are a lot more versatile than geriatric, 1960s designed 737s and 1980s designed A320s. Bombardier didn’t have the balance sheet that Boeing and Airbus do. But more and more airlines are ordering the A220 worldwide because of its versatility and relatively low CASM - and the order book is getting stronger and prices are starting to recover. I have followed the A220 program since it’s inception and I am a fan of the type. You sound uninformed and you act like an angry internet bully. Not cool. Maybe you should read some “A200 porn” like this: https://www.google.com/amp/s/thepoin...rbus-a220/amp/ and

https://www.aviationpros.com/airline...st-alabama-jet.

The A220-300 is not perfect by any means, but it’s a lot more flexible and versatile than anything else in its class - including legacy 737NGs and A319/20s.

Breeze has a very tough road ahead. They’re trying to add a new type to the fleet while dealing with a severe staffing shortage. They’re probably looking at going public soon and presenting “cheap” labor will help them maximize their returns on the investment. They can afford to park the 190’s because they don’t pay for them when they’re parked. The 220 on the other hand has to be flown , a lot. The lease payments begin at delivery, 10k a day. Management is not dumb, they’re trying to pay just enough to get and retain pilots, the new pay package didn’t accomplish either so I’m assuming another raise will come early next year. Right now they don’t need to fill airplanes, the cities subsidize to make ends meet, but they need to fly and without pilots that’s kind of hard to do.

Especially when you’re poaching RJ pilots just happy to fly something with more than 76 seats. Doing it when everyone else is going thru bankruptcy and no one is hiring is one thing. But right now, you could go pretty much anywhere and have a good career.

That’s one of the problems with this industry…as airlines mature and longevity increases, costs go up, so any swinging Richard can raise money, start a new airline which operates for less, undercut everyone else, take market share, end up bankrupt or sold/merged, and the cycle repeats, which ultimately hurts the piloting profession. It’s kind of a don’t hate the player, hate the game, scenario, but if nobody went to breeze, they’d either raise wages or fold. So, the players do have a say in it. “But it’s better than mesa, so I’m doing better for myself and my family. It’s a Neeleman company and I’ll be double digit seniority for my whole career and we will make jetblue pay in 5 years after we ask for it nicely enough because we are the nicest airline.” Yeah. Sure. If this ALPA drive actually makes it, that will help. Hope you learn from JetBlue’s mistake of taking 15 years and 3 union drives to finally do it. Just my $.02 why trolls come around here.
As someone new to the industry please enlighten me on this. When the legacies gave up scope to create the regionals was there a lot of push back on that? The horrible pay for non-military heavy/fighter to “do their time” is more what creates this than anything from what I see.

ORF trips suck so I couldn’t speak on those besides saying they block like 4-6 per day. The stronger bases see 8-10 hours of duty for 6- 8.5 hours of flying. Think like 82 credit 18 off. YMMV.

Load factor is in the 60’s- 70’s, peaked near 80 on a few of the thanksgiving rush days. Pilot morale on the other hand is nowhere near that lol.

I'm here making fun of this because pilots who will go to a non union airline and undercut everyone else who flies similar equipment are the cancer of this industry.

Don't even try to come at me with your recent "pay policy" increase, because without a union or a contract, that's gone with the stroke of a pen.

This airline was created for the sole purpose of undercutting all the LCC and ULCC airlines with cheap slave labor working for SkyWest pay, because you get to strut around and brag about your Big Shiny Jet. You are actively undercutting every pilot who paid their dues and laughing in our faces about it.

Keep going. You're the only ones laughing. Good luck with the rest of your careers in a couple of years when this experiment ends.

It’s a start up airline. Give them a break. If this forum or airline makes you so unhappy, why don’t you go to another forum? A lot of pilots see Breeze as an airline with potential especially those who live in base. JetBlue was non union for over 15 years and the time will come for Breeze. Nobody’s forcing you to come work for this airline. It’s a free country.

Telling people who don't think like you to leave and silencing views you don't like is a hallmark of woke liberal cancel culture. You seem to have a lot of that sentiment over there, bruh.

The fact that you guys don't want to have this debate says it all. You're selling out and you know it.

That's all I have to say about that.

Welcome to peak stupidity. Where the righty is hiding behind a union and the lefty is preaching for right to work.

While I wouldn't go there, if this airline does succeed it would create more players in the LCC game and ultimately play a role in increasing industry wide wages as it competes for pilots. Unless we have another "incident" which seems to happen every decade.

It’s not about cancel culture. It’s about coming after a new airline that doesn’t even have its second type up and running yet let alone a union. There won’t be a union for some time, but everyone anticipates that it’ll happen eventually.

I hate cancel culture as much as the next person, but how about showing discretion instead of attacking an entire group of pilots? Seems pretty straight forward.
