the original discussion was about our captains going as direct entry - which is happening. Now we have captains here who are likely to sit reserve for a year or need to commute. I think the majors offer would be a very smart move.

Any word on how junior BDL is? A captain at my regional was interested but isn't on the forums

If you’re talking about just UA, then have at it. But there’s a reason why thousands of qualified pilots there above you don’t want that upgrade. Talk about sitting reserve indefinitely lol Best of luck.

They said there’s almost 2 A220s coming a month next year, you won’t be sitting reserve too long, especially if you already have decent seniority now.

You are assuming every DEC at Breeze CAN go to a major. That is not reality. MOST captains at Breeze (not all) will not go to a major for one of three main reasons:

1. They CAN'T. Yes, we have plenty of pilots who are not hirable at places with more than one resume on file.
2. They have regional airline mindset - that being - Breeze is better than what I had before, so I'll just deal with it.
3. They live in base. This one is tough, because you really can't beat living in base. But it's also a bit short sighted. Turning 65 with 21 years of 18% DC is tough to beat. And you can do things to mitigate commuting (see working for AA in CLT and living in Charleston or DL and moving a few miles down the road to ATL)

Management knows this. It's why nothing changes here until ATTRITION increases beyond acceptable standards. Too many folks flying around here with a "It's good enough" mindset. There's a difference between "It's good enough" and "content, but not comfortable". One never really progresses, the other does.

Sure. Pick Breeze over UAL. Are you 🤬ing kidding me? Hell, I get irate when I fly with new FOs at SWA that hem and haw about leaving for the Big 3. It’s a serious no-brainer nowadays.

your posts make it very clear how inexperienced you are blueJuice. The seniority progression at the legacies is light years ahead of breeze. Who cares you’re top 5% at allegiant. A turd is still a turd, no matter when you joined. my buddies who are at the legacies for less than a year and are bidding at around 50% have wayyyy better QOL than me whose been here since the beginning. I came here because I thought this was going to be JetBlue 2.0. That was naive. it took JetBlue 20 years to be where they are and though they’re a good company they’re not as good as a legacy. Everyone I know who went to a legacy and got a narrow body airplane on the drop sat reserve for 3 months if not less.

and enough with this 220 nonsense. Whose going to fly those airplanes?? You seriously believe we’ll be able to staff them? Even at 5.5 pilots per airplane that’s a stretch. Even if you don’t want to fly heavies, a lot of other ppl do. Multiple airframes create a ton of movement which is good for pilots. Like Bon said, the seniority thing is a sham at breeze, specially if you’re coming on now. Unless you’re number one or two in base, your QOL is going to SUCK!

You've been here since the beginning and have low quality of life? Are you commuting from Anchorage? If you can't have a good quality of life here then nobody can. Also how could you determine already that it's not as sucessful as jetblue? They just started. You won't know if it's 2.0 until years, decades from now. I mean, good luck nobody is forcing you to stay, and it looks like your seniroity can't get any better.

The captain and FO pay at avelo is much higher than breeze. When a crap company leads the pay there is a problem

But Avelo flies 737s. They are going to be the next SWA of 20 years ago.
