Southwest has the best balance sheet in the industry. They will be fine. They actually had a 233 million dollar profit without special items.

If a company the size of SWA lost 219 million in the last quarter, what does that say about Breeze losing 50 million?? They have 800 aircraft, we have 30!!

y’all’s comments are like a dog chasing his tail all the time. Just chill breeze gonna be fine. They wouldn’t be adding routes weekly if the house was on fire

Have no clue about Breeze specifically, and certainly tend to fall on your side of optimism with things, but replace replace "adding routes" with hiring.

Prepare for the worst, pray for the best.

Everyone loses money when they sign a new contract. My buddy is an FO there and got a 100k retro check, can’t imagine what the captains got , on top of their industry leading NB rates.

honestly man, at this point, it is futile to try and understand the logic some of these guys have. Specially the young ones with 30+ years left. I used to ask my FO’s all the time wth they were hoping for out of breeze. Best case scenario and it is a lonnnnnnnng shot breeze becomes an allegiant JetBlue style airline who will undoubtedly always pay less than the other carriers. The hiring wave is passing on by and its breezes best chance at survival. Spirit and JB guys are flooding the legacies with apps at the moment, competition is getting high and the regionals will start to stagnate. I expect breeze to start getting lots of apps. Last time that happened they lowered our pay. I’m just really happy all that’s behind me and the **** sandwich is finished.

Sorry, the math just doesn't add up regarding pay. Especially if we actually do get a contract next 3 years. Assuming you don't care about widebody international flying, you'd be taking a pay cut leaving Breeze. By the time you make the same amount there as you did here, assunming you didn't take the first avaiable upgrade that nobody wants, either we have the contract with DC or you would have had crazy seniority. Now's probably not the best time to be switching companies, unless you have to. You need as many people under you as possible with all the volatilty. Also I'm sure a lot of us are here for something different, not just pay. Otheriwse why would you go to a startup, it's a gamble.

Where is there? You're saying it would take someone 3 years at a legacy to equal pay at Breeze?

year 2 FO legacy min guarantee pay is within a few thousand of year 2/3/4 Breeze CA min guarantee pay. Plus they actually get a retirement plan, and if you figure that in, the breeze pilot not only makes about 20k less, but also yields several hundred thousand less in retirement. Your math doesn’t add up. No one at any LCC other than SWA has ever yielded anything close to legacy compensation. There’s no argument to be had about that!

If you believe we will get a contract within 3 years, you’re an absolute fool! Plus IF we even get a contract it will be an absolute garbage one. Look at Allegiant and that is our future. They took the better part of a decade to get a contract
