Default Getting ATP with a type rating

I think I'm going to get my ATP. I see plenty of places to take the ATP-CTP course. It's my understanding that the best way is to combine a type rating with the ATP check? Am I understanding that correctly? If so I can't find anyplace that seems to offer it. I found one place the offers a 737 type with ATP but I'm thinking more like Citation.

Both Flight Safety in Atlanta and CAE at DFW offer the CTP and Citation types. Is that the best way? It'll cost you a lot more than thrashing around the pattern in a 310.

I want to try and get some part 91 contract work. Thinking the ATP might help. I have 8500 hrs with 7000 TPIC so I figured an ATP would be the next step. A 310 would be boring.

A 310 would be more interesting than a Citation.

What are your goals? If 91/135, then pick a relevant type. Citation Is probably most likely to get you a job without time in type.

If airlines, 737 is cheapest type, and will give you extra credit with SWA.
