Default Compass or SkyWest or Mesa?

I’m thinking of applying to Regionals via an E3 visa for Australians.
- Not all USA Regionals hire via this visa, and I want to fly the ERJ 175, so I only have a few airlines to choose from.
- I don’t care too much about the base, I can go anywhere.
- I just want a command as asap, and an ok salary if possible! I won’t be able to go to a USA Major.

Compass - The sign-on bonus and salary seems better than others I can choose from, maybe it’s a risk as they only having a few contracts that are up for renewal in the next few years?

SkyWest - no bonus and lower pay, but seem to be expanding

Mesa - everyone says to avoid it, but is it really so bad?

Which would be the best choice?

Default Why SkyWest for lower Pay and no Bonus?

SkyWest - no bonus and lower pay, but seem to be expanding. But why did you folk decided on SkyWest for less $$$ ? For a faster upgrade?

Yes, avoid Mesa at all costs. It has a repetition for a reason.

If you want the quick command SkyWest will be faster. They are upgrading pilots joining the company with prior 121 time. It's better run, bigger and growing. There's more opportunities.

If you desperately wanted LAX, PHX or SEA I'd recommend Compass.

If base isn't an issue you'd do better at SkyWest. They also would give you benefits on AA, DL, and UA so you'd be able to get onto flights more easily. Instead of buying an interline fare, you'd list via the mainline partner's system.

I recommend Mesa as well. Excellent management complimented by an industry leading contract.

People come to OO mostly for the bases these days. If you don't care about the base, go where the money and QoL are.

They're kidding. Don't believe us? Try mesa and come back in six months and tell us how it's working out.

Also, I wouldn't limit yourself to the E-175 unless you need the type rating for another job you have in mind. It's a nice jet, but not work living somewhere you don't want to live or commuting. All the RJ's in service in the US today fly just fine. Majors don't care which you fly either (at least not in the US).
