40 year old Career Changer from Wall Street?
Utter slop.
Defeated before you began, and now you will never know for yourself.
I have a friend who started flying, got a great first job and then quit because his pu$$y hurt a lil' bit.
For 25 years I have listened to his angst about never following through.
This career is EXACTLY what one makes of it and NOTHING else.
There are so many opportunities compared to the last 25 years or so...Never been a better time to give it the Old College try.
STK

Ha! Funny stuff STK. My brother and wife have been listening to me say “what if” for 15 years. No one is happier than them that I am going for it. It’s a win win. Hopefully it works out but if I die trying (figuratively of course), that’s ok too - at least I tried.
Almost done with my commercial multi, btw.

GOOD for you!
You will never regret doing it. Even if it doesn't work out you will know in your Heart-Of-Hearts that you did your best and you will never be left wondering.
The job prospects, pay, and quality of life choices, have NEVER been so abundant as they are now.
I had forgotten this thread...But, would be really interested to hear how things progress for you.
PM me if you wish, anytime.
Have Fun and Good Luck!

Same airplane here!
Hey New career, LOL, I am in the similar situation like yours. As this moment I am a 43 years old with ACSEL - Multiengine - Instrument Airplane with 377TT and bachelor of science in aeronautical degree, and no where to find a job for last 5 months. I am thinking serious to go back to my previous job Lead Data Architect by the end of this month. If I dont find nothing. The good thing here is that my old job paid for all my flight training so I do not owed any money. So I am thinking to lease, rent or buy old cessna and fly as hobbie until meet some min requirements for cargo and keep working as Data Architect as main career then switch with aviation. I do have passion for flying but aviation industries sucks, too much sacrifice ! specially if you have a family, I heard that some flight schools do not offer not even a medical insurance for their flight instructors. I do have respect for those pilots that sacrifice! but with family kind a hard to do it. Best luck and keep flying!

As for jobs, get your CFI and start working. Work part time for a few months, then jump to full time. Right now, you are lacking momentum. You need to get moving forward again and CFI is the best route.
Edit: now that I pointed out some typo’s, I’m sure I’ll get critiqued on my own post...go ahead, throw your spears.

I’m not normally a spell check nazi, but since you’re posting about finding a job, I’m going to chime in. Your post is loaded with typo’s, poor grammar and even some double negatives. Make sure your resume and CV are tight. Maybe you’re internet posting style is relaxed, but make sure it doesn’t creep into your professional life. Or maybe English is your second language, which is fine, but requires some diligence on your part.

Typo plural is typos, they are not possessing anything. And you incorrectly used "you're" once.

Update - part 135 offer
Hi all,
Just wanted to give everyone an update. I went out and got my multi engine commercial without a hitch. I applied to and received an offer from a well respected part 135 operation. TT around 530. I am inclined to take it because I do not want to instruct and waste anymore time not flying a line. There is a significant time commitment though, which seems to be par for the course for someone in my situation. We train you and give you your ATP and you have to fly for us for a couple years.
Any last words of wisdom before I commit?
