Furthering career
Long story short,
Current ERJ FO upgrading to CRJ CA in a couple of months.
Working on college degree (should be done in about a year)
3000 TT
1500 121 FO
Volunteer experience
No failures
Aiming at hopefully gaming LCA after the upgrade.
Main goal United Airlines ( live in SFO )
Question is,
I never flight instructed only flew Part 135 to gain my first 1500, is it worth the time and effort to go down the road of gaining CFI/I MEI to make myself more competitive for a shot at United down the line?
Thanks gents

I'd say no due to the high fail rate for cfi initials. Unless you have a good buddy or Uncle who's a DPE.
Probably better to pursue LCA, cfi helps for that but is not required.
The additional type will help too.
But don't limit yourself just to UA, you'd be better off commuting to another big six major at LAX than waiting for a call that might not come.

LCA might be a little harder to get without any previous instruction, or it may take more hours in the left seat.
Get involved with your company's recruiting department, safety stuff, union (unless you're SKW). Stack the resume and show how you were more than a line pilot at your job. That's more important than a CFI ticket you did nothing with.

Roger, thanks for the direction.
I was just curious if those three check rides & ratings may help me down the road in adding "points" to my airline apps.
At OO so SAPA's the closest thing we have got right now..
Will do my best at getting involved within the companies more management type positions.
If you have any other guidance for me I'm open ears
thanks
