I don't mind that and have no problem learning the ropes of 121 world at a regional for a bit, but I really want to get to the big 3 asap for obvious reasons. If I can bypass the regionals I want to. But I also know there is a lot of knowledge to be gained at the regionals during a short stint too.

I don't get the desire to bypass the regionals. Get more training, fly a new jet, a larger jet, and make yourself better. Showing ability to go through training and pass a 121 type rating course is a solid resume improvement.Improving your resume instead of focusing on a way to 'avoid the regionals' is a better plan. Apply to EVERYONE that improves your resume if you are flexible enough. I had 5 jobs in the first 5 years of my career...including 2.5 yrs at one company. Could you get hired by a major right now? It's a low probaiblty shot. You have to take the shot but improving your resume will improve your odds of the low Pk shot.

Lmao partly because there’s some truth to this but it’s not the times we live in. Good for these guys that they don’t have to endure the crap we had to. I don’t mind flying with inexperienced new FOs but they better be likable and humble.
Honestly though, is flying an E-170 or CRJ-700/900 much different than slipping into a 737 or 320?

Very similar history and resume. It's not impossible; his secret sauce was being a legacy; both Mom and Dad were AA. Good luck. If you have any AA specific questions, feel free to PM.

VERY few pilots with your resume are getting hired at the larger majors. Probably zero at the Big 3.

Are regionals even hiring low time FO's at the moment?

Not really. I have 1800 hours and nearly 400 single engine turbine. Left my CFI job when the FO hiring first slowed for a single engine turbine job. Was recently TBNT by SkyWest (with no interview), no response from Endeavor, no response from CommutAir, no response from Envoy, no response from Piedmont. Did not apply to Republic, GoJet, or PSA.
None of them really need FOs, and most are probably avoiding people who have more than the bare minimum 1500 hours as they feel pretty confident you'll leave for a better job within half a year.
It looks like things may slow down a bit in 2024. Honestly some stablization for the industry may not be a bad thing for those at the bottom end of the career rung. I know lots of people stuck CFI'ing right now. I'm at least happy I got out of that world and I'm flying something more complex.
You might want to look at NetJets. They're my next target, though the pay really isn't very good for new FOs. I'd take an over $20k paycut from my current gig to go be a NetJets FO.
