I have an interview next week and I'm filling out the flight time grid. PIC, SIC, and Student (dual received) are supposed to add. Then it says this will be compared to your logbook and any discrepancy will eliminate you from consideration. Problem is, my PIC and dual received totals will never perfectly add, because I logged PIC and Dual Received together during my instrument rating. This isn't illegal according to the FAA, but how do I make it clear that the dual received column in my logbook will not match my totals added up on their sheet for the interview? Anyone have any experience with this?

Single Engine + ME = TT is the big one in my book..just make whatever you put on that sheet..match your logbook.
Make sure every piece of paperwork is 100% complete, all checkrides flagged.
Bring copies of everything, and BE ORGANIZED!
Good luck.

They should be OK with this, since everyone else logs time the same way you do. It should not be new to them.
With AMR especially, try to find and correct every single error in your logbook.

I always type up an explanation of the issue and fold it into my logbook (so they can see it if they review it without you present and able to explain). Clearly state something like "logbook PIC column includes dual rec'd time logged as PIC in accordance with CFR 61.xx (the sole manipulator rule) - please note that this has been reworked on my application to indicate PIC only as the time solely responsible for the aircraft".
Seems to work for me.
