Just regurgitating what they told me.
I was given great advice once during an interview for dispatch. Long to short; I was being extremely modest and the interviewee stopped the interview and told me if you don't talk yourself up, who will? That is all that comment was meant as, nothing more. It was for an FAA medical (cognitive question) that was slapped on me by a Dr. when I was in like 3rd grade. I disclosed it on my first medical application years ago and the rest is history. This sim session was basically the final "test" to prove that I could do the job. Nothing bought; just a friend who helped out by putting me through the paces and then writing a letter. Keep it in your totals, but unless they ask, it's not worth much. You didn't pass a 121/135 checkride, and no type rating, so really it's meaningless. Sorry to sound like a jerk, but just saying. |

So you got the job at PDT, congrats, you've gotten your ticket to the "your life, hopes, dreams and desires mean nothing anymore" show. :( |

Ok. We get it. You weren't happy at PDT. You get to fly a jet now, we are all so happy for you. How about you go complain about Skywest now. Just because you feel like PDT wasn't right for you doesn't mean other guys don't deserve the right to be happy to work here and have the same chances here that you had. Move on.
I couldn't give a crap about whether it's a Prop or Jet. My opinion was and always will be: F.U.P.M. The problem with PDT is that half the time they don't and when you call them out on it, they fight you. You have got to be all kinds of brainwashed if you believe fighting for the $ you earned, the days you have off, the question of whether training will destroy your career because you spoke up a little too much, etc.. means you're happy to work there. If you actually are happy, well, start bottling/packaging whatever your drinking/smoking, cause this entire industry needs it, and you'll be so damn rich off your fellow pilots, you won't know what to do with yourself. Finally, I'm trying to give all the new "dreamers" a lesson in "piedmont Reality" before they get there. At least if they take the job, it won't take a year before they realize what a crap hole it is. If they are not comfortable from the beginning, they will get out sooner, and do their career a favor. For all who hadn't taken the job, it's a big warning sign to say, BEWARE. So have fun at work, "Ok, Buddy" |

Understand but I do have 121 experience (might not mean sh$t but I still got it) and have had CFI's tell me a fly a real good stick (also might not mean sh$t). I think I'll submit it, like you said, I just didn't want to waste my and their time and get the HR rejection letter right away.
You sound over-qualify for Piedmont you should run your resume to American or Delta. They are looking for "real good stick" pilots and since they are having problems finding pilots with your qualifications they may actually start you with one ot two years of senority. Any more info just send me a P.M. |

We're short because there's been a mass exodus of F/O's jumping ship with an "anywhere but here" attitude, even to places with a long upgrade or are just outright dangerous (Eagle, Chautauqua, Afghanistan, etc). Captain's aren't leaving (at least, not in any number worth speaking of). They've either been here too long to ever consider going somewhere else and will ride this sinking ship either until they hit 65 or the fleet retires and we stop being an airline in ~4-5 years (my estimation) or they're waiting for the "right" opportunity to leave (Delta, UniCal, FedEx) and probably won't even then because they don't want to give up their QOL/uproot the family/etc. There's also the Mainline poolies and really junior Captains who'll jump ship if they get a chance, but there aren't enough of them to really make a difference for a new hire's prospects. |
oh hai guise wats going on in here anyone have cliffs?
my cliffs so far: kid with 757 sim time wants a job at piedmont skywest vs. piedmont battle piedmont bashing jet vs. prop battle piedmont upgrade time argument wat i miss? |
