The US BLS says pilot jobs are decreasing?
Hello, I'm looking to a pilot. I have several friends who are pilots and they love it.
But I was looking at the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and it says that there will be 800 less jobs in the next 6 years.
A pilot is my dream job, but it's expensive and I'd like it to be a job.
I was wondering if this should worry me? I'd rather not go through flight school and log hours if there's no chance I could even get a job...
I was wondering if anyone could help me?

Unless someone finds a faster way to travel, the flying business will be important. Many, many retirements are coming up, even if they only replace those who leave, there will still be many jobs available.

Jobs are decreasing but so is the labor pool. It's an expensive training pipeline with a rather long time for return on investment. Ask again in a few years - be a career switcher.
