I will complete my IPC this coming week and see what happens. I may complete a BFR if I have no response from anywhere. I have not really applied to regionals but did get a "thanks but no thanks" from Empire. I have been applying to companies that suite my preferred bases.
I agree I think it may be a little slow due to Christmas but time will tell.

Fast forward a year later update...
Ended up taking a PC-12 gig early part of this year and it's been a great way for me, personally, to get back in the game after 7-8 years of being out of it. Racking up that Single-engine turbine PIC as well. Hey, this PC-12 is all glass and "NG"! QoL has been great since we're home every night. But it's time to move onto bigger and faster things.
Now looking forward to a regional, possibly, a street captain position. There aren't many out there, but looking forward to testing the waters.

Fast forward a year for me, too. I just finished IOE yesterday with a regional, Envoy. After I finished my IPC last year, I was hired temporarily by a local Part 135 charter company that went under shortly after they put me through ground school. After that experience, I decided to go with a company with better training and who was financially stable. Envoy was my first choice, because of easy commute time, best regional pay of any out there, and they called me back first. After the quality of the training I just received, I'd recommend Envoy to anyone. It was tough, but in a good way. Got me back to solid ground with my flight skills. I thought would take a lot longer than it did, after 10 years off, but their training was very good. I don't know how they compare to other regionals, but if you are interested, feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Envoy.

To expand on my job hunt before taking the PC-12 gig....
I had interviewed with a large 135 on-demand operator, but was given TBNT. They had concerns about my lack of recency- naturally- so it wasn't a huge surprise, but a great experience to go through an intense hiring process.
I was offered a gig to fly a C208 and C402 for a cargo outfit. 4 to 5 days per week. $85k. But the idea of flying single pilot at night on steam gauges (with a Garmin GPS unit) over mountainous terrain wasn't very appealing. That was a tough one to pass since the money and schedule was good. Put the kids to bed, go fly, drop them off at school, sleep, pick them up, etc. Weekends and holidays off. Solid 80 hours per month. But I needed less piston and more turbine time.
Ended up taking this PC-12 gig. Crew environment, turbine, glass, Scheduled ops. Simple and fun airplane, great schedule. Turbine PIC albeit single engine.
I could've (and maybe should've) gone the regional route sooner. But for me, the PC-12 has been a great segway back into the deep end. So now, I look forward in 2017 to a regional... possibly street captain gig or AA wholly owned. It's tough with my kids in a great school so I will probably commute. Come May/June, my wife and I could reconsider a move. Her job can be virtual based.
I've had my apps in at just about every major/lcc and continuously update. I certainly don't expect calls, but perhaps once I check that 121 box as a recent accomplishment, maybe that will trigger something.
All I can say to those looking to get back in is apply everywhere you think you'd want to go. You will get bites and TBNTs. But the odds are in your favor during this hiring boom.
