And less likely with three engines.

Speaking of, the feds ever investigate the transair thing or forgot about it?

I haven't seen anything official, but my transair buddy told what happened and why feds shut them down. Wasn't pretty.

Yeah that's basically the last I heard. And their original proposal was over a year ago. I know they've taken a bit on investigations lately... But this one is a bit simpler than even that RJ deal in Maine in 2019.

Simplified: The plane had an unairworthy engine that wouldnt even produce TO thrust without overheating (the technique would be to split thrust levers on takeoff. If you refused you were threatened with termination). The "good" engine failed on takeoff and the engine that had been pencil whipped for a long time would not maintain level flight without overheating, leading to it failing.

But mostly fatigue.

Or anything similar.. As good as I’ve ever heard it told.

And you're the lead investigator on this with access to all the patient details or speculating? While Transair was a known rathole airline - the actual report is what the feds need to get going with. Anyway back to WG since it seems the Transair thing is buried under a pile of bureaucracy.

Do you have any facts about this “contract,” that was supposedly lost?

Given the numerous, severe problems at WG, it’s extremely alarming that management’s main focus is on this sort of nonsense and not on safety and compliance. I don’t know how any legitimate airline can view the world’s premier aviation safety organization as a threat.

The 30%-ers who are leading the anti-ALPA charge all seem to be trapped at WG. Alcohol/drug issues, criminal records, FAA violations, aircraft accidents and/or marginal flying skills prevent some of these people from getting another job. It isn’t taking the new hires long to figure out they’ve been lied to!

Somehow, the Capt Rep on the WGA MEC managed to get himself fired. Yet, he still claims he is the Captain rep as a non-Western Global employee. I’m sure the narrative will be that he was targeted by management. But, does his continued presence make sense?
