So, you're not disputing the fact that Volume III, the MD-10 differences, is alone half the size of the entire MD-11 Manual prior to the MD-10.

...and how's that "get a life" philosophy working for us so far?

Being ANC based, I couldn't tell you the difference. Haven't seen one in a year. Scary.

You don't have to listen to me......just ask the FAA.....They will be happy to laugh at this whine line for you....

I'm not sure what you mean...................
SWA now only flies only FMS 737's. pretty much all the same except the newer ones 700, 800 and 900 have a better efficient wing. The systems are exactly the same.

I'll let an Older SWA guy chime here but when they flew the old -200's with Steam gauges and Heading hold, they dumimed down the automation of the 300 and 500's. In other words they flew the 300's without using VNAV/LNAC. They used the FMS for performance only.

I worked for a carrier that flew both Dc-9s and MD-80's as well as 737-200 and 300's. It was a different Bid pack for each, we didn't cross fly them even though they had the same Type rating respectively. It was a smart move.

Didn't say they didn't change the way they flew them, "dummied down or not", They flew them all, differences and all. The FAA thought our fight to have different ratings was not a player...
That was my whole point.
Our whining about our subtle differences is laughed at by a lot of groups who fly "MUCH LARGER" differences than we do.
