And ya know, I'm seeing a LOT of young guys (under 2 yrs here) that have their names attached to these trips, and they are NOT getting them on reserve. I hope they find their butt dragging, and I hope not to see the same names keep showing up. This really SHOULD be addressed to all the new hire classes...

I just noticed a newhire classmate of mine had 3 disputed pairings in his May calendar. I sent him an email asking why he picked them up. Doing my small part to support the SIG... BTW, the ALPA reps did discuss the disputed pairing process during our indoc.

Hypothetical situation. This hasn't happened to me, but it doesn't seem beyond the scope of possibility:
You have a string of 10 R-Days.
There is a 12 day DP in open time starting on your first day.
CRS calls you and tells you that they are going to assign you that trip, but D/H you home on the 10th day(you will already have performed the disputed portion of the trip).
They offer to draft you for the last two days of the trip if you complete it.
Would the SIG say it's Ok to take that extra money?
What if they offered to draft you for the whole trip and drop your R-days?
Either way, you'll be flying 10 days minimum including the DP portion of the trip? Fly a 10 day for 46 hours(R-day value) or fly a 12 day for 78(60 plus 12*1.5) or 108(72*1.5) ?

I wouldn't do it.
There's lists around here. People have long memories. (You can make love to a thousand women, but you bang one goat....)
Totally understand your point, but don't even talk about doing it. Seriously. Tell them you will operate as a reserve pilot on that trip, nothing more.

Complicating a simple issue.
Whole trip at draft and drop your R days? Just say no. After 10 days of work? Just go home and see your family.
Our problem is not these hypothethtical cases. Our problem is that these dirtbags pick up trips out of open time when our Union says don't. It is S-C-A-B-I-S-H behavior and ther is no excuse for it. They belong on a list with scabs and non-members.
