Look fellas, I know you have been covering for some who like to fly disputed pairings. Here is the deal per contract: they cannot be assigned via vto unless asked for specifically and you cannot pick them up afterward unless you ask for them specifically.
Those who say they did not know are blind because they want to be. The disputed airings are given out in many different forums and many different ways. You fly then at your own rik and someone who has been with the company over 6 years (as some have been pinpointed) are bkind by choice or dont care about the process.
Get in the game. If it is listed, dont ask for it, that is all you have to do.

I can't imagine anyone intentionally picking up the Airbus SAN trip. It's hard enough to do an AM launch to SAN with a short layover. Now throw in a LBB stop on the way! But then again, it does pay 7:57 CH for a one day trip. Some fool will pick them up.

You should have received by now an e-mail from the Scheduling Improvement Group - May 2007 is a 4-week month
The Bid is Open for May. There is no possibility that someone can, at this point, pick up a Disputed Pairing out of Open Time, or request one specifically on a Secondary Line. What else can we do at this point to prevent a pilot from "accidentally" picking up one of these pairings out of Open Time? We've debated what to do after a Pairing has been picked up -- but what can we do to prevent it before it even happens?
Is it even important? Well, the SIG seems to think so.
The A300 PSIT added this to the May SIG Letter:
Attachment 601
Does this help? Do you think it would be helpful if every PSIT did the same thing? I imagine the PSIT would appreciate feedback, either way.
And, as an aside, who is this Jim Skinner guy making up his own version of Scooby Snacks?!?!

"Ladies and Gentlemen the ALPA SIG believes the disputed pairing process is our best means of fixing rigorous pairing designs, it requires the crew force to keep themselves informed and up to date!"

"For the crews receiving mini snacks in SFS. Jim Skinner has found some local products that will meet the crew forces needs as they transit SFS. We had a few committee members taste test the SFS Scooby Snacks and they give 'a thumbs up'."
Where did he find these "products"? Do we want to know? .

Step up and get your scorecard for May.
It is my hope that this list will help folks avoid asking for a disputed pairing in their preferences for their secondary line or as a conflict replacement. It's ordered by date/week.

ALPA's founders chose "Schedule with Safety" as their motto. Support the SIG/PSIT in upholding that standard-- Don't fly disputed pairings!
