THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

The following ACP poster “aviatorhi” is either:

1. a troll

2. management figure

3. a highly disgruntled duschbag who didn’t get hired after his FedEx, UPS, United interview.

His comments should be avoided at all costs.

Could be all 3 simultaneously, but I definitely think he fits at least 2 of them.

Getting back to the initial idea though of 20 B737-800s.... where does Southern expect to find pilots for these airframes?

From my understanding they are having a hard enough time filling classes with their current fleet, let alone adding 20 more.

ABX, Atlas and Sourhern all display poor management. By keeping salaries low.....more bonuses. Good luck filling seats.

The Delta FedEx contracts aren’t because the corporations are nice guys , if they could get away with paying pilots 50% less they would.
That’s the same argument made for decades in the regional industry; yet now they have no problem remaining profitable and paying new pilots $95k first year and retention bonus checks to stay.
We’ve been fed lies for so long that it’s now a common belief.

First year pay is a pretty God d@mn short timeline when you're talking about a career move.

Sure, enjoy your 95K for the first year, only to see "your" flying shifted over to some other group a few years later.

Yet they still are training new hires.....same at ABX. For some the grass is always greener.

You’re overlooking the retention bonus checks, and the quick upgrades. The point is that if they can do this now, they could have done this always.

I’ve flown with recent new hires at ABX. Downright scary. If we could get 50% who could communicate with ATC and not sound like a third world soap opera it wouldn’t be so bad, but..........
