If you need flying time, as either FO or PIC, the 737 flies VERY FEW hours, relative to the regionals. That is why Atlas has purchased 737s to fly around the country empty, just for training. It is basically IMPOSSIBLE, to consolidate on the 737, by just flying operational flights.

I can't think of many people where I am now who would willingly make the trade for "big 3" pay if it meant losing the type of schedules we get. Insinuating that we're all underpaid unless we're following "big 3" or FedEx type rules is ludicrous.
We ARE underpaid in the ACMI world, vs the "Big 5", but, luckily for us, there is a Pilot Shortage. FedEx, Delta, Endeavor, Atlas, JAL, China Southern, and Emirates, as examples, are ALL are competing for the same pilots. If ANY one of the above is sub-standard in some way, they will have a difficult time finding pilots.

Atlas AAWW (Atlas/Polar/Southern/Titan) wants to expand, and it seems they want to expand A LOT. I believe, if Atlas is to successfully expand A LOT, then they will need an Industry Leading contract. If Atlas wants to expand somewhat, an Industry Standard contract will work. If they keep things as they are, Atlas will shrink. From what we have heard, the last 12 months, Atlas/Southern recruiting new hire numbers have not kept pace with attrition.

The first two started TPA-RFD, and RFD-TPA.

I’m hearing the first year will be Rockford, rockford and more Rockford. Hub turns from Rockford. CVG is maxed out and not enough room.

I would expect just a couple hundred hours a year for a the first few years. The longer segment stuff will go senior, while the new hires can operate the 737-400 from CVG to STL- that airport hotel is next to the Waffle House is your new home during the day

Wonder if it was to be able to control strike capabilities or route changes amongst its contractors which would interrupt its fairly recent (a few years) next-day guaranteed services. Control seems to be everything no matter how you spread it.

We studied this in aviation law. Fred Smith, the owner of Fdx, was lobbying hard against them from 80-87. Because UPS was using subs exactly as Amazon is doing. Thereby creating an unfair competition. UPS took the IPX certificate and went in house amidst the pressure. Amazon will never fall to this due to their PACs they control. They are pretty much above the laws or own the peeps that make them.
