June Pairing Rumor

Everytime someone wants to refute someone elses desires they pull out the 'personal choice' comments. They are about the most blind-eyed comments one can type. Everything in life is a personal choice...duh!
I choose not to commute and I choose not to do out and backs also. My choice! Got a problem with that?
The issue here is with reality. Commuters and their desires are a reality. Their reactions to change are a reality. Another reality... if everyone lived in MEM, then there wouldn't be enough scheduled D/H seats to operate our current ops plan.

It's just amazing to me how selfish some of our pilots are. Just because someone likes out-n-backs then all lines should be that way. BS!! That is what has been so appealing for years at FDX, the variety and ability to fly what you want. We are a group, and need to meet the goals of the group, not a couple of individuals. If they are going to optimize more than they have already done, it will get worse, no matter how sunny you try to make it sound. I have no desire to do 4 leg AM out-n-backs. When I do a 3 leg, I feel they are borderline dangerous!! Not everyone can move to Memphis for various reasons, and you'll thank yourself for staying away from the armpit of America. Join the other side if you want, I for one want what is best for ALL of us.

You might want what's best for all of us, but one thing you can count on. The company will do what management thinks is best for profits. As the old saying goes, "wish in one hand and sh$t in the other and see which gets full quicker."

Wow, the june pairings aren't even out yet and we have folks flaming each other about hypothetical trips. It sure is easy to get APCers up on a step. I can't wait for the excess bid on the -10 and the MOAB to follow and then many will be blaming lack of seat progression, the lack of ozone and the falling housing market on the over 60 guys.

Memphis might be some pilots home town. I get sick of people trashing it. Most people will do it to your face and not even care. If you dont like memphis there are other airlines you could work for. I would rather that you dont move here but its rude to bad mouth it. The company should not care if you commute. You are based in MEM. If you dont want to live here than you should be on your own to get to work. I think FDX bends over backwords to cater to commuters. So what if there are 30 out of 200 lines that are out and back. Dont bid them.
