Paper plotting charts for now. EFB’s are being issued to the individual pilots as we speak with Jepp FD ProX. Currently three airplanes with FANS, the two winglet aircraft and the other straight wing ex-AA airplane. Best guess that any additional 300’s will have FANS.

Does Amerijet allow international jump seating with CASS?

Currently we don’t allow jump-seat on any flight due to covid19

Whats the upgrade time currently at AJT?

It varies, based on your experience.
We don’t do strait seniority based upgrades (you have to apply for the position with a resume and interview plus checkride). People with previous 767 type and PIC experience go to the front of the line and might upgrade in the first year, low time pilots... you get the picture. This is something the pilot group might want to address with the next contract and be more like every other airline in the country

I have a few questions that I forgot to ask at my interview yesterday.

--If you are very junior - how hard is it to get all of your work days in a row?

--I assume because it is a 28 day bid cycle, that there are 13 bids a year?

--Are CVG/SMF the only 2 out station basing right now?

--Alas, when pilots do get an overnight how are the hotels?

I really enjoyed the experience yesterday.

Hopefully we’re smart enough to hire you. We need you that’s for sure given pending business. I know these are scary times. Frustrating times. But don’t give up and keep the faith. I myself have been there. I just want to offer some positive support to any candidate interested here. Good luck to all!

How does one apply?

-Currently we don’t have control over our schedules, it doesn’t matter if you are junior or senior, we only bid for days off, and scheduling will build you a line, unless you get SMF (very senior) and those lines are built with all days in a row.

-Yes

-Yes

-Very decent, so far has been Hiltons, Sheratons, Radisson Blu, Double Tree, and at a last minute layover I was in a La Quinta.

I really enjoyed the experience yesterday.

I like that EMA trip. That's a really nice way to come into the DHL system.

Hi, guys anyone got a call from AJT in the last few days?

C5Drvr 08-03-2020 05:49 PM

Just applied today. Are they still pulling applications for interviews? 757/767 typed, 7500 hrs, 4000+/15years of 757 experience. 757 instructor. Is that even competitive these days?

About what?
Sending resume to Chief Pilot, or link on APC?
Now I can’t find the link anywhere either, not even on AmeriJet website, but here it is:

There was a guy who was promised his days off in a row from the Big Boss in the interview.
He quit during his OE when he received his July schedule..4days off 1 day Res then 3 days off then 2 days on the 3 days off! When he confronted the Big Boss with the recording of the agreed to Schedule... they were completely indifferent.
Dont be delusional!.. some things there will not change!..Its 36th St! Take it or leave it!

I’ve applied online, but is the chief pilot open to unsolicited emails in this day an age? Especially when his email isn’t publicly listed? I wouldn’t mind doing it as a referral but curious if this wouldn’t be to forward. Thanks for finding the email for me.

Agreed!
Not trying to sugarcoat anything, just trying to give the facts and let people make their own decisions
I’m happy here and don’t expect everybody to be
Some people love to fly the boxes, some people prefer to fly the “foxes”
If things are been promised at interviews and not honored, it’s unfortunate, but I can’t comment on it because that was not my experience.
Is this the perfect place to work? Hell no! Far from it, but we’ll continue to work to improve it, including changing unions.
I’ve jumped seated on Delta, United and American when I was working in the regionals, and a common thread is that none of them were happy with whatever contract they had.
Any pilot job is going to have days were you said “can’t believe they pay me to do this” and days you go “they don’t pay me enough to do this “

Personally, I wouldn't email the CP directly. I applied online via the regular application window and received an interview about 30 days after. They are looking for experienced people that can upgrade quickly, so with your instructor time I'd imagine they would see that as a big asset.

So the company made absolutely zero attempt to fix the issue? Are they that inflexible?

It maybe the case, but many times there seems to be more to a story. Walking off a flying job in this market just doesn’t seem to be a wise move.

But what do I know?

Amerijet Interview

Hello to all any interview tips or info for non typed rated on the 767 would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

FlyPurdue 08-09-2020 04:54 AM

When I interviewed last week, they asked if I thought I could make the 10Aug class. Told them that I really needed 2 weeks to get my leave from UA setup. The team seemed fine with that and said no news was good, and they would be building a pool for the September class, but we would not hear anything concrete until that class was confirmed, and they started filling it.

hope that helps!

Airbusgod 08-09-2020 06:36 AM

Congratulations
