I know someone who 'Zoom' interviewed with AJI this last week. His stuff was walked in. I'm not sure if that's what got him the interview or not. From Resume to interview 10 days. Hope that helps.

Just don’t be that guy with entitlement issues. We already have two and not scoring any points with anybody. And if they tell you you’ll get CVG be prepared. It went senior this bid and will probably again next one too. Miami flying can be a tough commute. Respect when furloughed and you need a job. But being honest about this. I feel some are in for a dose of reality very soon.

Lots more. Postal service, DHL and ETOPS all have significant time away from Miami and overnights. We still have the day trips but they can be brutal. 4-6 legs in a 767 island hopping isn’t fun, especially in our lone 200. Personally I bid out to CVG for a set schedule and as close to home basing as we currently offer where the company pays for my ticket and hotel. I’ll do that all day. Far easier than Miami flying.

But seriously a pilot has to do what they must do to survive these days. But I won’t lie. It’s a huge waste of time and money when we know there are some pretty deserving regional guys out there available. I’m not saying all the legacy furloughs are bad guys. I’m not. But we have hired some with major egos and attitudes and it’s going to be interesting. Just an opinion but I’m telling you what current line pilots are feeling and chatting about. In closing if you come here be prepared. Know the Miami flying isn’t as structured or organized and frequently changes. If you plan on commuting have a plan and a crash pad. We have active line pilots here. We are happy to try to help answer questions. Just ask or ask us to PM if you want privacy. Either way for those looking good luck. |

To Commits post, it’s a waste of time and money to hire guys with ETOPS experience who are typed on the airplane? “They’re in for a culture shock?” In the group chats I’ve been a part of so far, most guys are sick and tired of the culture that’s here. People want ALPA and have reached out to those coming from ALPA carriers for contractual information. Why wouldn’t we band together to make this company better? Seems like some above don’t want to make it better and just want to “stick it to” those who came from another job that had better work rules. Also, many of these legacy pilots did plenty of 4-6 leg days at the regionals or other carriers. No reason to be upset with someone taking a job offered to them during the worst downturn in modern aviation. 9/10 new hires here will want to fly safe, learn the ropes, and embrace a new opportunity and are happy to still be flying. You’ll always have bad apples inside the company and coming into the company unfortunately. I think everyone can learn from everyone, good attitude or bad. Seems like commit already made up his mind. |

Who the company hires and for what reasons is based on decision usually made above most of our pay grades. Like the ALPA adage says "They Manage, We Fly". In other words our focus and purpose is to operate the aircraft safely, legally, and to take care and support each other while accomplishing that. Every pilot group has their "5%" that are problem children, there is no avoiding that wether they are a "Marvin Mainliner" or a grizzled "DC8 Champion". However that still leaves the vast majority of the pilot group that can act as a unified front for achieving positive, and collective, change. I haven't been here anywhere near long enough to know every detail of what this management has recently put this pilot group through, but I am being educated on it a little bit more every day by pilots that share similar professional views and goals within the AJT ranks, and who are working hard to make this a better place for all who are here or who wish to come here. Division within our ranks only makes it that much harder for positive changes to take place, and gives that manager you love so much the upper hand. Who knows, maybe even by working together Amerijet can get a good contract, and can evolve from being a stepping stone for most, to a place that people actively decide to hang their hat up at. |

Anyone coming in as a new hire regardless of their past job regardless of that’s a legacy or a regional or general aviation who is trying to fix the airline overnight, that guy has a bad attitude and it’s a problem. However, your previous posts reveal your saltiness towards legacy guys. I’m not speaking for 2 bad apples who think they’re sky Gods. How about you meet us and make that judgement on an individual basis? What if a regional guy came here and talked down on your company and you? They wouldn’t be wasted money because it’s a regional guy? There are regional gigs out there with much better QOL than the Amerijet system is now. But he’s a good investment right? Not the guys who are typed with ETOPS experience, and are here to fly safely within the operation? Sorry, but I’m not buying it from your previous comments. If you have a problem with someone because they are simply a legacy guy, just own to it rather than try to bs us. Also, if you think this is only going to last a year as far as furloughs go, I think you’ll be surprised. |
