This is consistent with atsg going, for the first time ever, to Boeing for 767 conversions. Boeing isn't cheaper, so savvy shoppers go there when IAI is full. IAI is clearly behind the.8 ball at the moment, while Boeing is opening new lines. So what they're saying seems to make sense. Amazon, meanwhile, seems to be interested in owning its own aircraft now, and presumably will continue to send them to a TI and lesson until there's a business reason not to.

I personally don't know where the merger talk continues to exist. Without some force majeure, it's not on the table for any of the ATSG airlines (remember there is a 3rd...). While very, in fact, incredibly inefficient and more costly to operate several airlines within the same company, it is the ATSG way. They have never been an industry leader nor one to listen/learn from the (failed) business methods of others....the term 'reinvent the wheel' doesn't even apply since it's nothing but squares. ATI pilots are correct in that their contact (including home basing) can not be arbitrarily modified. There is a negotiated process for that, and of course anything is possible for change, such as home basing, during section 6 it's most likely not on the table for discussion...any ATI pilot or negotiator could speak more so if it were. Should ATSG want to "remove" home basing from any of their airlines....well, they will make it happen in the end. It will be interesting to see if ATI secures a follow-on CBA that has any significant improvements and changes (I wish them the very best). The field is getting more difficult almost daily with the continued entry of low cost, bid to the bottom, airlines who are biting into the ACMI world of AMZ/DHL airlift.

Not that anyone should care what I think, but I do want to say that I think this is really-well-written and well-reasoned.

As to the bottom-feeders, the barriers to entry in the industry are low enough that I expect they'll always be there. A Fine Air gets replaced with a revamped Arrow Air and on and on. The good news is that some of the newer DHL entrants (and I think we all know who I'm talking about) really haven't gained any traction so far; they seem busy-enough just trying to cover what they have. I'm also hoping that if Kalitta is indeed moving away from 767s, ABX is now in a position to grab the preponderance of those to operate for DHL -- a good combination of price, service, top-tier reliability and labor peace.

Say you have no idea what’s going on without actually saying it. We are enjoying moving up in seniority to FOs who are easily picked off by AA and other majors. Most of these came to us when their regionals closed last year so needless to say that weren’t here for a long time from the beginning. Still taking routes and planes from other Amzn carriers. Coming here right now is hedging a bet but if things continue to play out as they are you could be in an amazing place in 2 years…. On the other hand maybe not. But at least give your friend facts or say “I don’t really know anything about the landscape over there”

Your two choices there are Atlas and ABX. You haven't taken any from ABX. So you're saying that you have been given more from Atlas that we haven't heard about?

And you don't take routes from anyone. Those get moved around constantly.

I would hope that “taken” was a poor choice of language.

We all know that AMZ creates/shuffle/assigns routes and stations with ease. I think (hope) what Slickshoes was referring to was the anticipated station openings scheduled for this year and the routes that they would employ.

Ok, let me just ask some straight numbers my friend asked from ATI guys… before he took a job at Jet Blue.
1. When was your last upgrade?
2. Is open time FO or CA heavy?
3. How many aircraft slated for 2022?
4. How many crew per aircraft?
5. How many CAs have left vs. FOs?

You might move up quick as an FO is guys are leaving, but you’ll never upgrade as long as they need FOs on the line.
He just did basic math after that.

while I’m not sure what pony a K4 and a B6 pilot has in this race…

1)answered previous post
2)kinda even but leans FO
3)answered previous post
4)believe it’s 3-4 crew
5)don’t know exact number but it’s heavily weighted towards FO’s.

I applied today. I'm guessing nothing will happen until the window closes and they start the process of wading through the apps?
For those contacted previously for the interview-how long was your wait from app submittal to email/phone contact?

You’d be better off at a legacy/lcc. Scheduling here has become a complete nightmare. The bidding process is useless for QOL now, it used to be good. They can’t seem to pay anyone correctly. Something like 300 gross errors this year.
