Lets see, decent pay raises to the number three position in ACMI, and EVERY FO on property at the time upgrades to Captain in short order making another 60% or so.

Sounds like the pilots on property made a very good deal. New hires are getting in at the onset of good growth which means a faster upgrade to much bigger paychecks, and their FO pay was third in it's industry.

Not sure how you can see that as not a decent deal from where they were.

Again...all you focus on is pay...there is like 41 articles in the ABX contract. Only one is base pay. Great if you want to live for the moment...a great contract needs to cover everything not just pay. If you are on the negotiating committee at your airline would you only discuss pay and let the company have everything else? Very short sided...

Nightfr8dg is right, they make so much extra money working the system, especially when they have pilots on furlough..

I wish Nightfr8 would quit letting ABX management know that their contract is the best. I'm sure we'd all like to pattern bargain off of them in the future.

Unfortunately it seems this next generation is content with financial illiteracy. If I gave any of my siblings the option of taking $1000 today instead of $2000 in 1 month, they all would take the $1000 now. People don't seek advice anymore. When I was younger, I seeked out wealthy people and engaged them because I wanted to know the secret to their wealth. It pains me to see the ACMI management take full advantage of our pilot groups. Perhaps we need more financial education for our crews.

It's all about money...hell the current consessary contract ABX has passed because the pilots at ABX on furlough voted for it to get 80k each in severance money. They new it had provisions for bidding open time but did not care. They assumed the airline would be gone anyway. They also knew the pilots left behind would not get any severance money if they parked the aircraft the next day.....they took it and ran. Now they bi@#h.
