Interesting. Unless there is something in your job history that gives them reason for concern, I'd guess that they're making a bet on how long you would be likely to stay. Retention of new-hires is the problem they're having at the moment, and numbers like that say you're likely to be hired away by some big name soon. If you're genuinely interested in ABX as a destination and not just as a waypoint on your way to somewhere else, I'd suggest contacting the recruiting people and communicate that to them.
As for the previous poster with 1650 total time and 150 turbine, I'd say that's far on the low end of what they would be likely to take unless they're really short on applications. I believe history has shown that pilots with that little experience are much less likely to successfully complete training and IOE.

There is usually some eating thrown in there depending on the time available between those events and whether the flight is catered. Sometimes other activities depending on the length of the layover.
I can't really imagine that what we do here is that much different than any other airline.

In a normal F/O line holder lifestyle you'll enjoy your life depending on your desires. You can make good amount of money or you can enjoy your time off. Good Hotels layover, transportation most of the time is on point, working routes are Good, inflight meals... depending on departure station but for the most part good. There's a lot of progress lately, new airplanes coming, upgrades & open time.
