Pretty sure Open Mind is a MEM MD-11 Capt. Actually a good guy by the way, just has a different view on some things.

If he (or she) is voluntarily flying DPs, he ain't a "good guy," he's a self-serving pr##k. (or dil@o if it's she.)

So flying a DP is the same as a non member? Sometimes you guys should really need to take a deep breath. If Open is who I think it is, his line # does not require him to fly DPs, reserve assign or otherwise. Calling someone names for having a different opinion is childish.

We are not talking about just opinions.

So if I call Benedict Arnold a traitor, I'm being childish. Traitors, scabs, non-members and guys who fly DPs all have a common behavioral trait. Putting their interest before the good of the team. You can say "different opinion" all you want. We're judging them on their actions.

In the instance of flying a disputed pairing......yes you are a non-member, in that you are deliberately circumventing the efforts of all other members to improve the collective quality of life issues. In flying these pairings, regardless of the reason (It improves my schedule; I will do what ever it takes to be w/my family; I'm way behind due to furlough, Retirement etc....) one is thumbing ones nose at every other person (who subscribes and sacrifices by NOT flying these for what ever reason). The other edge to this sword is that one says "I don't care about anyone else in my business, I'm doing for me, screw the rest". Well, OK. But be willing to be accountable for the consequences that flow from that. Being a pariah, no landings if your an FO, no liberty partners on layover, dirty looks, and uncomfortable questions from peers. Either your in or your out. There is no "middle ground" here. I know this is an uncomfortable concept for some new agers; Bedrock truth......what a concept. Chaff, Flares.........continue.......

Well answer me this: Why are we disputing the same type of trips under the new contract that we were disputing under the old contract? I guess we gave in to give the plus up for the retirement for the guys that get to Fedex late after a full military retirement.

FLMD11CAPT not sure what kind of sacrifice are you making by not flying the DPs, I for one have not made any sacrifice by not flying them?

So what is next? The guys that vote yes to the LOA are also in the same group as non members? What class are the guys that do not even bother to vote.

The language in the contract about DPs is a joke.

Angles....continue....
