Nominal schedule is 16/12, with travel days built into the 16. Expect to be out all 16 days. Split lines with shorter trips are a rarity normally. Trip construction varies. There is a lot reserve built into our overall schedule. The bid package changes all the time and reserve is often mixed into flying lines. Carry in and carry out days dominate the available lines, making it pretty difficult to escape at least a few days of reserve. Open time comes and goes, and the awarding process if you volunteer is anything but transparent. Usually calling in to volunteer for a specific trip results in a “we’ll add you to the volunteer list” and no promises.

It depends. There are plenty of lines that never touch the land of corn. If you are on reserve and end up there you have a chance at getting an extra day at home. Get enough seniority to hold hot standby there and you can be home quite often.

What about Seattle, I heard that’s another place to be on reserve lots.

Try to get a current bid package to see where the hot reserve stations are and how many.

If you want to be based in and around CVG goto ABX, not ATI
You can bid and trade into full hot reserve line at ABX that keep you in CVG basically the entire month (other than flying the our and back recoveries)
Also ABX pay is better, 401k way better, etc.... 200% opentime

Contract Includes $114 Million in Improvements over Four Years
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Yesterday, the Air Transport International (ATI) pilot leadership, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), voted unanimously to approve a tentative agreement for member ratification. For more than five years, the pilot group has been in negotiations while operating under an outdated contract. If ratified by the membership, the agreement will result in approximately $114 million in value over the life of the contract, including improvements to compensation, quality-of-life issues, and retirement.“This tentative agreement reflects not only our value to the company but is also the direct result of the unity and tenacity of every ATI pilot,” said Capt. Michael Sterling, chair of the ATI Master Executive Council (MEC). “This agreement will go a long way to improving the lives of our fellow pilots.”
The agreement will now be sent to the membership for consideration and a ratification vote. If ratified, the contract will go into effect on April 1, 2026, and bring immediate benefits to the pilot group. If ratified, the pilots will be entitled to an immediate pay increase, one-time ratification bonus, and a substantial company-funded contribution to their retirement. Over the life of the four-year contract, improvements will be realized in scheduling, benefits, and retirement, all while retaining home-basing.
“As we move from the negotiation process to member ratification, I want to express my thanks to my fellow negotiators, the National Mediation Board, and every ATI pilot—all of whom stood in solidarity for almost six years,” continued Capt. Sterling. “We are proud of our relationship as Amazon’s largest airline, and we believe this agreement will help reinforce our continuing partnership moving forward.”
Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 80,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines, including the 550 ATI pilots. Visit ALPA.org or follow us on X @ALPAPilots.

I really DID NOT enjoy my time at ATI, but it allowed me to get the time needed to move on. I'm really happy and glad that finally management and the union have an agreement. HOPEFULLY, it's not a giant steaming mess...
