You missed the point. If congress or the FAA shoves a change down our throats then it is what it is. This was a question about SUPPORT. Which side should we SUPPORT? FDX pilot were against SUPPORTING a change to the age 60. Then that is what our representative should do. Period.
Somehow, the MEC or at least the chairman seems to forget that the position is a figurehead position. All we need is someone who can follow instructions, looks good on camera, sounds professional, looks like an airline pilot, enjoys bad hotel conference food and wants to kiss butt. His/Her job is to do exactly what the majority wants.
Failure to do that is what has pis$ed everyone off. If this LOA was not junk then we still would have voted for it. Not because my negotiating team speaks for me, but because you don't screw the fellows!

Prez, when you are countered by a reply from someone concerning any number of your posts detailing the positives of the LOA, when that counter idea is correct and backed up with facts, you never say "I stand corrected".
Your flip flop on the LOA, first being solidly against it, and then for it, has a lot of people who know you wondering "what the heck is he smokin"? Not because of the fact that you changed your mind, but because your rational for supporting it sometimes is not based on factual info.....to put it nicely. What are you smokin anyway?

Anyone know the minimum age, under ICAO, to become an airline pilot?
Someone once told me it was 21, but I don't know for sure.
If 21 is the lowest age, under ICAO, a person can become an airline pilot, then how does that stack up against the FAA minimum of 23....
Don't see people standing on the street corners complaining about that bit of age discrimination do ya'.

"In JL's last diatribe, he mentioned that word on the street is the rejection of the LOA is partly due to retaliation for ALPA's Age 60 reversal."
I'm also holding my breath and jumping up and down....I guess the idea of unskilled labor being able to read and make an informed opinion is too much for JL and the MEC to comprehend.
