thanks for the info

The only ALPA "letter" I remeber receiving was instructions on voting. The Magazine arrives regularly.

I'll pull June's pay and see if the appropriate deduction was taken.

(You must be a Wide Body F/O with such a huge deduction...... )

You have to trust the Financial Oversight Committee - they can assure you that all is well. Details are not for you - you wouldn't understand the details.......

Default Mil Leave?

As for NB F/O, since you have no info in your profile, you coulda been a WB Capt for all I know.
How can ALPA charge us 2% for airline income we never made if we are on Military Leave? My last company was ALPA and when you were on mil leave you weren't charged ALPA dues at all. Does that mean at FedEx if you happen to get activated for 2 years when you come back you could potentially owe ALPA 6K based on 150 grand a year WBFO Pay even though you were making much less than that as a military officer? Doesn't seem fair to me.

The reason he said the 15th paycheck was small next month is because the FEDEX takes all the drops and adds out of the next month check on the 15th. Nothing to due with dues. If I drop all my Sep flying on the 1st day of the month, my Oct 15th pay check will be almost Zero.

Harvey Watt Life Insurance
August 14, 2007

Some of our members participating in FDX MEC Harvey Watt Life Insurance may have noticed that their July 15th ALPA Insure deduction was much less than the June 15 deduction. That was due to an administrative error in which ALPA inadvertently did not deduct the Harvey Watt Life Insurance premiums for the July 15 payroll checks. As a result, the affected members were issued letters from Harvey Watt and/or ALPA National requesting payment. Please pay the requested amount to Harvey Watt, as instructed in your August 10, 2007 letter from Harvey Watt & Company.

This problem has been corrected and should not occur in the future.

If you currently have Long Term Disability coverage through Harvey Watt & Company, the monthly premium for that coverage was deducted from your July 15 payroll check.

We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused. If you have any questions, please feel free to call ALPA National at (888) 359-2572, option 3.

For those of us who have been direct billed by Harvey Watt & Co., due to ALPAs screw-up. I just received another bill from ALPA today for twice the amount????? The good news -- ALPA has no clue as to why. I love taking care of these things on my days off. Once again my Union dues hard at work!

While I agree with you, it sucks and maybe ALPA made a screw up, but don't forget, there are plenty of folks at ALPA that are volunteering and doing good stuff for you every day on their days off! Otherwise, carry on your rant!

At least it was only a $28 hose up...
Just wait 'til the company gets you for 20 times that!
