Does anyone what domicile the new hires with lower time (500-600) are usually assigned? The way I understand it, the bidding for domiciles goes by seniority, is that age seniority or time with the company seniority?
Also, I would ultimately be interested in upgrading to the jet as an FO. How long could I expect to be flying the prop before I had a shot at upgraded to the jet? And the same question here: can I bid for what jet base I would like or is that also senority?
Thanks

First, if you don't meet the 135 PIC minimums you are a prop pic. You get your senority number when you complete the SIC checkride (during your initial training). You do not really have a choice in where you go! From what I understand most of our P-SIC's stay here in LCK until they have the time to upgrade. The CP ultimatly decideds and he might let you elsewhere depending on your situation, but don't count on it.
When you do upgrade all bidding goes to the highest senority number (hire date).
It takes about a year, give or take a couple of months, to upgrade to Jet SIC and then the same for PIC, and you bid on what becomes available and it goes by senority number, however a lot of people are a little picky and every now and then someone who doesn't care where he/she lives will bypass quite a few senority numbers as a result. Six month's time is not unheard of!
