I think the bid already came out and we just missed it.

The bid went to the MEC last Fri. They'll bid for you since they know what's right. Your opinion is neither required nor desired.

And again--I hope I am wrong--but I don't see the 757 Paris slots going all that senioir, and I doubt there are a lot of MEM 727 captains that will move off to Paris for the same pay + cola minus a higher cost of living.
Aaron, just so you know. The latest aquisition/conversion schedule shows 11 more Airbusses thru 09 and 4 MD10s (above the 18 DC10s flying now which will also come back as MDs) thru 2010. There are also 34 757s and 15 777s due by the March of 2011 (where the schedule I saw ends.) The growth has slowed, but it's still there.

Agree with you on the 72 Captain deal. No way will I bid 757 CDG. I may end up as an involuntary STV in HKG as a junior 300 MEM guy, though. I expect 757 CDG Capt to go about 2-3 yr seniority, with new-hire FOs.

Well, the 72 school has students, but I sure wouldn't say it's busy. 2 Captains a month, plus a half dozen newly over 60 guys and DC10 refugees per class is hardly busy, when they can do classes of 16-30 every 2 weeks. I think they are just spacing training out till hiring resumes, so they won't have a bunch of flex and pro instructors with nothing to do.

No poll asking us what we think BEFORE bidding for us...regardless of what the poll reveals the crewforce wants?

As I sometimes point out--every once in a while I am (gasp!) wrong. Thanks for that point out. I didn't think about the ongoing P/F conversions. The DC-MD conversions however don't seem to me to be a net gain in bodies, but mght actually (with age 60 changes) slow growth a bit.

If some of the MD-10's for the proposed HKG MD-11 FDA come from the remaining DC-10 conversions, the # of domestic seats available would likely shrink some as the slack might get picked up by optimized scheduling.

Then maybe some of those A300s come back to the states.
