I wonder where we're going to park all these ANC based aircraft. I've heard the plans from the ACPs and ground pounders, but between lack of parking space and lack of airways facilities (more runways and taxiways and maybe even an approach without a tailwind landing) just seems like we're going to outgrow ANC very soon.

Congrats to the newbies...see ya at Humpy's

If your senior then it sucks if your junior its awesome!
Kidding aside I never wanted to do it, but coming from the whale to the bus I missed the one leg to the hotel.

Never sitting the sort

Getting away from SDF

yes you work a lot together 10-12 day trips, but end up with mini vacations two weeks off in a row) because of it

international over ride and international per diem!

etc etc

That will force some very difficult choices for me......

FWIW, and I am not trying to stir the pot! I had a fed on the jump-seat 2 weeks ago and he said by the end of 08 we will have a 747-400 base in SDF. It's only a matter of time, in his words. And he was a fed assigned to UPS.

I would guess that both seats would go very senior.

It only makes sense that this would happen sooner than later. I've never been up to PANC, but from what I've been told is that there is not a lot of space up there to put all of these airplanes as they come through. Also, they are already hurting for bodies up there on the -11 (sick calls, JA's, sim fiasco, etc.).

I also agree, that I think both seats would go senior when it comes to SDF. We'll see....

I know the FAA is not happy at all with the prospect of relatively junior people flying around the world in a 747. I can see a 74 base in SDF within a few years if not sooner.

I know RJ drivers that went (in the last year) to Cathay, Atlas, Kalitta, and one turned down a Polar job. How can they put newhires in the whale but Brown can't?

Their ball, their rules. FDX was doing the same thing last year with the MD-11.
